The University of Pennsylvania football team faced off against Harvard at Franklin Field, experiencing a close defeat with a final score of 31-28. Despite leading three times during the game, Penn could not hold back Harvard's determination as Dylan Fingersh secured victory for the Crimson with a last-second 21-yard field goal. This win allowed Harvard to clinch a share of the Ivy League title.
With Dartmouth's loss to Cornell, Harvard ensured at least a share of the Ivy League title for the second consecutive season, eliminating Penn from contention. The Quakers' overall record fell to 4-5, and their Ivy play record is now 2-4.
Liam O'Brien continued his strong performance as he completed 13 out of 18 passes for 171 yards and three touchdowns while adding another touchdown on the ground. O'Brien has now amassed 850 passing yards, 11 touchdowns, and one interception in four games.
Malachi Hosley achieved significant milestones by rushing for 143 yards on 17 carries and surpassing the 1,000-yard mark for the season. Bisi Owens contributed with two touchdown receptions totaling over 100 receiving yards.
Defensively, senior co-captain Shiloh Means led with eight solo tackles. Jack Fairman added seven tackles while Carter Janki recorded a sack alongside Fairman and Max Matolcsy. John Lista forced a fumble that Sulayman Adeoye recovered.
Penn's longest punt since October 2015 was executed by Albert Jang in this game with a distance of 71 yards.
Looking ahead, Penn will conclude its regular season next Saturday against Princeton at Princeton Stadium.
