John Tortorella's Philadelphia Flyers will face Travis Green's Ottawa Senators on Thursday at the Canadian Tire Centre. The game, scheduled for 7:00 p.m. EST, will be broadcasted on NBCSP and 93.3 WMMR with an online simulcast on Flyers Radio 24/7.

This matchup marks the first of three meetings between the teams this season, with subsequent games planned for March 11 in Philadelphia and April 13 in Ottawa.

Samuel Ersson, the Flyers' primary goalie, has shown strong performance in his recent starts despite a previous lower body injury. Over his last six starts, Ersson has achieved a 4-0-1 record and a .915 save percentage. "He's been on top of his angles," according to reports. This season, he holds a record of 5-2-2 with a 2.70 GAA and .902 save percentage.

The Flyers are seeking more consistent offensive production from their forwards but have benefited from nine goals by defensemen over the first 16 games. Travis Sanheim has been notable for his extensive ice time and overall play quality.

Tyson Foerster faces an important match against the Senators as he seeks to regain form from last season when he scored two goals against Ottawa. "Tortorella said after Wednesday's practice that the Sharks game was one off which Foerster can -- and must -- build in Ottawa."

The Flyers' penalty kill remains strong with a success rate of 90.4 percent, ranking second in the NHL this season. However, they face a formidable opponent as the Senators rank fourth in power play success leaguewide.

The Senators have had an inconsistent start to their season but are coming off victories against Boston and Toronto. Linus Ulmark secured a shutout against Toronto, supported by early goals from Josh Norris and Tim Stützle.

Overall, Stützle leads Ottawa with 20 points this season, followed by Brady Tkachuk and Drake Batherson among others.
