Jeremy Maclin, once a standout wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles, reflects on his journey from an unexpected draft pick to a celebrated career in the NFL. In 2009, despite not being on the Eagles' radar before the draft, Maclin was selected as their 19th pick. Watching from home with loved ones and a camera crew, Maclin was surprised but thrilled.

"You go through such a long process, so many interviews, and it's exhausting," said Maclin, now serving as head coach at Kirkwood High School in Missouri. He expressed gratitude for joining a respected organization like the Eagles, describing it as "the most fulfilling experience" of his career.

Maclin's tenure with the Eagles spanned five seasons during which he recorded 343 receptions, 4,771 yards, and 36 touchdowns. His remarkable performance in 2014 earned him Pro Bowl recognition with 85 receptions for 1,318 yards and ten touchdowns. Following his time in Philadelphia, he played two seasons with Kansas City and one season with Baltimore before retiring in 2017.

Reflecting on his career start marked by that pivotal phone call from the Eagles, Maclin emphasized his love and respect for football. "I truly loved it and respected the game and everything about it," he said. Elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 2023, Maclin takes pride in earning respect throughout his career: "I earned the respect I got and that is the ultimate for every player."
