The University of Pennsylvania baseball team has claimed its second consecutive Ivy League Tournament title, securing a spot in the NCAA regional. The Quakers, seeded fourth, defeated third-seeded Cornell in two games to win the championship.

In the first game, Penn narrowly won 11-9 against Cornell. They followed this with a decisive 12-6 victory in the nightcap. Senior Wyatt Henseler was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player. He hit .375 with three home runs and ten RBIs over five games.

Penn's achievement marks their tenth conference championship and their seventh NCAA appearance in program history. This is the first time since 1988-89 that they have qualified for back-to-back NCAA regionals.

"Wyatt Henseler (ILT Most Outstanding Player) is joined by junior Connor Chavez, sophomore Ryan Taylor, and senior Cole Zaffiro on the Ivy League All-Tournament team."

Henseler also set two records during the tournament: becoming Penn's all-time doubles leader with 50 and breaking the Ivy League's single-season home run record with 22.

The final games were competitive, with Penn overcoming early challenges from Cornell. In Game 6, Penn took an early lead but faced pressure as Cornell closed the gap to tie at 6-6. However, Penn regained control and secured an 11-9 victory after scoring four runs in the seventh inning.

Game 7 saw another strong start for Penn with an early lead that they maintained despite Cornell's efforts to close it down to one run at 7-6. A late surge from Penn extended their lead to a comfortable six-run margin by game's end.

Penn now awaits its placement in an NCAA regional which will be announced on May 27 during the NCAA selection show broadcasted on ESPN2/ESPNU.
