Rising senior pitcher Ryan Dromboski from the University of Pennsylvania has signed an undrafted free agent contract with the Philadelphia Phillies. This move marks a significant step in Dromboski's career, as he joins the professional ranks following his notable performance at Penn.

During his sophomore year in 2023, Dromboski was recognized as Ivy League Pitcher of the Year and earned a first-team All-Ivy selection. He achieved a 7-3 record with a 3.17 ERA across 13 starts, striking out 97 batters and walking 35. His achievements also garnered him second-team ABCA/Rawlings All-East Region honors.

Despite initial struggles in the 2024 season, Dromboski concluded strongly by going 3-0 with a 1.45 ERA over his final three regular-season starts. In Ivy League play, he recorded a 3-2 record with a 5.40 ERA and tied for fourth in strikeouts with 50.

Growing up as a fan of the Phillies in Columbus, New Jersey, Dromboski's signing is particularly meaningful for him. Reflecting on his time at Penn, he finished with a record of 10-8 and a 5.24 ERA over three seasons.

Dromboski is among several former Penn baseball players who have recently entered professional baseball this July, joining Jackson Appel (White Sox), Eli Trop (Phillies), and Cole Zaffiro (Yankees).
