Wyatt Henseler, a senior at the University of Pennsylvania, has been recognized as the PhillySIDA Academic All-Area Performer of the Year for the second consecutive year. This accolade is part of the Academic Area Baseball Team selection, which involves voting by sports information offices from 30 institutions in the Philadelphia Metropolitan area.

Eligibility for this honor requires student-athletes to be in at least their second year at their institution and maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or higher.

Henseler's senior year achievements include being named a third-team ABCA All-America at third base and earning first-team All-East Region honors. He became only the second Penn athlete to receive two All-America nods from the ABCA, following Craig Connolly in 1990. Additionally, he was recognized as ECAC Player of the Year.

As Ivy League Player of the Year and a first-team All-Ivy selection for 2024, Henseler played a pivotal role in leading his team to their second consecutive Ivy League Tournament title and an NCAA Regional appearance. He was also named Most Outstanding Player of the Ivy League Tournament with notable statistics including a .375 batting average, three home runs, and ten RBIs over five games.

Throughout his final season with Penn's Quakers, Henseler led his team in multiple categories: batting average (.360), runs (64), hits (72), home runs (22), RBIs (56), total bases (151), slugging percentage (.755), hit-by-pitches (14), and on-base percentage (.465). In conference play, he topped the Ivy League in several metrics including batting average (.438) and home runs (10).

Henseler holds several program records at Penn: career hits (232), runs (64), doubles (50), total bases (452), home runs (54), and RBIs (189). He also set Ivy records for homers, RBIs, and total bases. His single-season records include most at-bats in 2023 with 215; most hits with 72 both in 2022 and 2024; most home runs with 22 in 2024; most runs with 64 in 2024; most total bases with 151 in 2023; and most RBIs with 63 in 2023.

This academic recognition follows another postseason honor for Henseler—his selection to the CSC Academic All-District team for this year's campaign.
