PHILADELPHIA – Wyatt Henseler, a senior third baseman at the University of Pennsylvania, has been recognized as a second-team Academic All-America by the College Sports Communicators for 2024. This marks him as the sixth player from Penn's baseball team to receive this honor, following Chris Adams in 2020 and pitcher Ed Haughey in 1995. Henseler joins Joey Slackman from the football team as one of two Penn athletes named Academic All-America in 2023.

Henseler concluded his senior year with notable achievements including being named a third-team ABCA All-America at third base and earning first-team All-East Region honors. He became the second student-athlete from Penn to achieve two All-America nods from ABCA since Craig Connolly in 1990. Additionally, he was recognized as ECAC Player of the Year.

As a unanimous Ivy League Player of the Year and first-team All-Ivy selection for 2024, Henseler had an impactful season leading the Quakers to another Ivy League Tournament title and an NCAA Regional appearance. His performance included a .375 batting average with three home runs and 10 RBIs over five games in the tournament.

Throughout 49 games, Henseler led his team in several categories: batting average (.360), runs (64), hits (72), home runs (22), RBIs (56), total bases (151), slugging percentage (.755), hit-by-pitches (14), and on-base percentage (.465). In Ivy play specifically, he topped the conference in batting (.438) and several other metrics.

Henseler holds multiple all-time career records for Penn including hits (232) and home runs (54). He also holds single-season records for various statistics such as at bats and RBIs.

Academically, Henseler received additional accolades this postseason being named PhillySIDA Academic All-Area Performer of the Year for a second consecutive year and making it to the CSC Academic All-District team for 2024.
