The University of Pennsylvania baseball team concluded its regular season with a decisive performance against Dartmouth, scoring 40 runs across two games on Senior Day. The Quakers secured a 16-4 victory in the first game and followed it up with a 24-5 win in the second game, which ended after eight innings.
The Quakers, now holding a record of 20-22 overall and 11-10 in the Ivy League, are positioned third in the standings. They are ahead of Cornell by half a game. Dartmouth's record stands at 12-26 overall and 7-14 in league play.
Key performances included Davis Baker's impressive showing, hitting .600 over the doubleheader with two grand slams. Wyatt Henseler also contributed significantly, batting .700 with seven hits. Ryan Dromboski earned his third consecutive win, pitching seven innings with no earned runs allowed in Game 1.
Prior to the games, nine senior players were honored for their contributions to the team.
In Game 1, Penn took an early lead after scoring four runs in the first inning and continued to extend their advantage throughout the match. In Game 2, Nick Spaventa hit a three-run homer in the first inning to set the tone for another high-scoring affair.
The Quakers await results from upcoming games to determine their fate in the Ivy League Tournament scheduled for May 17-19 at Columbia University.
