Philadelphia Union II is set to continue its successful season as they face New York City FC II in their first home playoff match at Subaru Park on Sunday evening. Fans can purchase tickets online or watch the game through MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.

Union II, under Head Coach Marlon LeBlanc and Director of Academy and Professional Development Jon Scheer, chose Sunday's matchup during the MLS NEXT Pro's Pick-Your-Opponent Selection Show. The team finished with a record 15 wins and 52 points, marking their highest finish in the Eastern Conference. They enter the playoffs boasting the league's best offense with 59 goals and second-best defense in the East.

The club has seen significant achievements this year, including a comeback win against NYCFC II on September 23rd that secured their first-ever home playoff match. Eddy Davis III broke the single-season scoring record with 13 goals. CJ Olney, Andrew Rick, and David Vazquez have also earned MLS homegrown deals this season.

Vice Captain Frankie Westfield and CJ Olney received postseason honors as part of the MLS NEXT Pro Best XI selections. Westfield played every minute of his 26 games, setting career highs with six goals and assists each, breaking a club record for most goals by a defender. Olney contributed significantly with six goals and eight assists across 22 games.

In previous encounters this season between Philadelphia Union II and NYCFC II, both teams won at home with late-game drama. In their last meeting on September 23rd, Union II overturned a deficit to win after Markus Anderson scored early for them but fell behind due to three NYCFC II goals. Nick Pariano narrowed the gap before halftime, while Eddy Davis III equalized in the second half before Cavan Sullivan assisted Frankie Westfield for a decisive goal.

New York City FC II ended the regular season tied with three other teams at 45 points but claimed the No. 6 seed thanks to a +12 goal differential. They scored 58 goals throughout the season but only managed one victory since September began—against top-seed FC Cincinnati 2—and had three draws resolved unfavorably in penalty shootouts. Taylor Calheira leads them with 14 goals and five assists.
