Philadelphia Union II concluded their regular season with a 2-1 defeat against Chicago Fire II on Sunday afternoon. The match was crucial for both teams, as Union II aimed to secure the top spot in the Eastern Conference, while Chicago needed a win to enter the postseason.

Union II dominated the first half but found themselves trailing after Peter Soudan scored for Chicago in the 15th minute. Markus Anderson equalized for Union II just before the hour mark, but Chicago quickly regained the lead through Omari Glasgow's goal, assisted by David Poreba.

With this result, Philadelphia Union II will enter their third consecutive playoff appearance as the No. 2 seed. They now focus on Tuesday's MLS NEXT Pro Pick-Your-Opponent selection show at 2 PM, where they will choose their postseason opponent from seeds No. 5-8. The selected matchup will occur at Subaru Park on October 20th.

Despite an aggressive start and several scoring opportunities created by players like Nick Pariano and Cavan Sullivan, Union II struggled to convert chances into goals. After Anderson's equalizer, Chicago responded swiftly with Glasgow's decisive goal in the 62nd minute.

Head Coach Marlon LeBlanc introduced fresh players such as Giovanny Sequera and Jose Riasco in hopes of turning the game around. However, despite continued pressure and near-misses from Anderson and others, Union II could not find another equalizer.

The match saw significant contributions from both sides' defenses and goalkeepers, particularly Patrick Los of Chicago Fire II, who made critical saves to preserve his team's victory.
