The Mets secured a victory in Game 1 of the National League Division Series against the Phillies, overcoming an impressive start by Phillies pitcher Zack Wheeler. As Game 2 approaches on Sunday at Citizens Bank Park, the Mets aim to maintain their momentum, while the Phillies seek to level the series before it moves to Citi Field. Despite a strong home performance in previous postseasons, Philadelphia has lost three consecutive home playoff games since last year's NL Championship Series.

Mets manager Carlos Mendoza commented after Game 1, "We know we're good, and we've got good players... we just continue to grind at-bats, continue to take it one pitch, one at-bat a time." The Phillies are focused on winning Game 2 as they have never rallied to win a series after losing the opener. Outfielder Nick Castellanos expressed optimism: "I mean, wash it off in the shower, come back with a new attitude, ready to win the day."

Game 2 is scheduled for 4:08 p.m. ET on Sunday and will be broadcast on FS1. It can also be streamed on MLB.TV in the U.S. and select international locations.

Starting pitchers for Game 2 include Mets' right-hander Luis Severino (11-7, 3.91 ERA) and Phillies' left-hander Cristopher Sánchez (11-9, 3.32 ERA). Severino will face the Phillies for his third time recently and had success in his final regular-season starts. Sánchez boasts strong home performance stats this season.

In terms of lineups, Martinez is expected to start as designated hitter for the Mets against Sánchez's left-handed pitching. The rest of their lineup remains consistent unless changes are made for strategic reasons. For the Phillies, adjustments might occur based on outfield alignments against Severino.

Bullpen strategies will be critical in Game 2. The Mets' closer Edwin Díaz should be available with adequate rest; however, Reed Garrett might not pitch due to recent innings pitched. For the Phillies, their bullpen remains mostly available despite struggles in Game 1.

Notable injuries include Jeff McNeil from the Mets who may return soon but is unlikely for immediate postseason play. The Phillies could see Spencer Turnbull return if they advance further into postseason play.

Key players include Nimmo from the Mets with hits in every game so far and Alonso needing more consistency despite crucial plays earlier this postseason. For Philadelphia, Schwarber and Harper ended their seasons strong but Stott has seen recent struggles.
