Philadelphia Union and the NCAA have announced that Subaru Park will host the 2027 and 2028 NCAA Division I Women’s Lacrosse Championship. Tim McDermott, President of Philadelphia Union, expressed excitement about the decision, stating, “We are thrilled to be awarded the opportunity to host the 2027 and 2028 NCAA Women’s Lacrosse Championship at Subaru Park. Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of hosting many collegiate sporting events, and the competitive spirit and energy these exceptional student athletes bring is unrivaled.” He added that bringing the women’s lacrosse finals to Subaru Park underscores Philadelphia's reputation as a center for world-class sports. McDermott also extended gratitude to the NCAA Bid Committee and looked forward to welcoming athletes and fans nationwide.
This will be Subaru Park's second time hosting the women’s lacrosse championship, having previously done so in 2015 and 2016. The venue has a history of hosting elite collegiate sporting events and lacrosse matches. It has been home to the Army-Navy Cup for twelve editions, with preparations underway for its thirteenth this October. Additionally, Subaru Park has hosted Premier League Lacrosse championship games for three consecutive years.
