Kellan LeBlanc, a 16-year-old midfielder from the Philadelphia Union Academy, has been honored as the MLS Next Pro Rising Star of Matchweek 23. The recognition comes after his noteworthy two-goal performance on Sunday against Toronto FC II.
The match marked LeBlanc's first professional start with Union II, where he made a significant impact by scoring twice to level the score after an early 2-0 deficit. Despite the team ultimately losing 4-2, his contributions were crucial in keeping Union II competitive throughout the game.
LeBlanc and Union II are set to return to action on Monday, August 26th, when they will host Columbus Crew 2 at Subaru Park.
