Philadelphia Union advances to round of sixteen after defeating CF Montreal

Philadelphia Union hosted CF Montréal in the Leagues Cup Round of 32 on Friday night, securing a 2-0 victory. With this win, the Union advance to the Leagues Cup Round of 16 for the second consecutive year.

In stoppage time of the first half, forward Tai Baribo opened the scoring for the Union with his second career Leagues Cup goal. Baribo netted his second goal of the match in stoppage time of the second half. The Union dominated with 13 shots compared to Montréal’s eight, while goalkeeper Andre Blake secured his third career Leagues Cup clean sheet.

The Union will travel to TQL Stadium to face FC Cincinnati in the Leagues Cup Round of 16 on Tuesday, August 13 (Time TBA/Apple TV).
