Philadelphia Union will face USL Championship team Indy Eleven in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Round of 32. The match is scheduled for Wednesday, May 7th, at 7:30 PM Eastern Time. This will be the Union's 13th participation in the U.S. Open Cup, where they hold a 19-8-4 record. The Union has previously reached the tournament finals in 2014, 2015, and 2018.

Indy Eleven earned their place in the round after a victory over Miami FC. The match concluded after extra time, with Hayden White scoring a decisive goal in the third minute of stoppage time. Former D.C. United goalkeeper Bill Hamid played a crucial role in maintaining a scoreless game with a series of key saves.

For the upcoming contest, the Union has been placed in the No. 1 position in the Landon Donovan Group. The group includes Indy Eleven, Pittsburgh Riverhounds, and New York City FC. The winner of the New York City FC and Pittsburgh Riverhounds match will face the Union in the Round of 16 if the Union triumphs in their current fixture.
