Bob "The Hound" Kelly will retire at the end of the 2024-25 season after a lengthy tenure with the Philadelphia Flyers. Known for his dedication both on and off the ice, Kelly has served the Flyers organization and its fans for over five decades.

As a player, Kelly was an integral part of the Flyers, embodying the hustle and spirit that fans admired. "The Hound" was known for his defensive sacrifices and occasional pivotal goal. He spent his playing years in the NHL directly after his rookie training camp success with the Flyers.

Since 2003, Kelly has been the Flyers' Ambassador of Hockey, playing a central role in promoting the sport and engaging with the community. He has been involved in youth hockey clinics, community programs, and school visits. His efforts have made a significant impact on the Delaware Valley community, contributing to various charitable initiatives.

The Flyers will pay tribute to Kelly's service prior to their game against the Buffalo Sabres at the Wells Fargo Center. As the face of the Flyers' community outreach, Bob Kelly has been instrumental in fostering a lasting connection between the team and its supporters. Despite being modest about his achievements, the organization will highlight his contributions.

Kelly's legacy includes several milestones in his playing career, such as being one of the few non-star NHL players to never play in minor leagues and scoring a Stanley Cup clinching goal for the Flyers in 1975. His lifelong association with the Flyers showcases the enduring partnership between the man known as "The Hound" and the team he cherishes.
