Major League Baseball (MLB) and NBC Sports Regional Networks have announced a collaboration to stream games directly to consumers for three MLB teams: the Athletics, Giants, and Phillies. This service will be available through MLB.TV during the 2025 season. Fans within these teams' home territories can access live and on-demand game coverage, including pre- and post-game shows, via the league's streaming platform.

The agreement brings the total number of MLB teams with direct-to-consumer (DTC) streaming options to 26 out of 30, effectively removing local blackouts for fans. However, games shown on MLB's national partners' platforms will not be accessible on MLB.TV.

For those interested in subscribing, packages for the Athletics and Giants are priced at $19.99 per month or bundled with MLB.TV’s out-of-market games for $39.99 monthly. The Phillies package is available at $24.99 per month or bundled for $44.99 monthly.

Noah Garden, MLB Deputy Commissioner of Business & Media, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership with NBC: "We are excited to partner with NBC to continue increasing the reach of MLB games for our fans." He highlighted that this agreement addresses a long-standing issue of blackouts faced by baseball fans.

In addition to the A’s, Giants, and Phillies, new DTC streaming options are available for other clubs such as the Atlanta Braves, Chicago White Sox, Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Guardians, Los Angeles Angels, Los Angeles Dodgers, Minnesota Twins, New York Mets, St. Louis Cardinals, and Texas Rangers.

MLB Network also offers a DTC option since its launch in 2024. Last season saw MLB.TV reach a record high of 14.5 billion minutes watched—a 14% increase from the previous year’s 12.7 billion minutes.
