The Philadelphia Eagles are assessing their tight end position group as they prepare for the 2025 offseason. Dallas Goedert has been a significant contributor when healthy, as demonstrated by his postseason performance with 17 receptions for 215 yards and two touchdowns. Goedert's ability extends beyond receiving; he is also a valuable in-line blocker. However, injuries have been a concern, with Goedert missing six games last season.
In Goedert's absence, Grant Calcaterra emerged as a reliable option in the passing game. In his third NFL season, Calcaterra caught 24 passes for 298 yards and one touchdown. He is expected to further develop his blocking skills and confidence in the upcoming season.
Veteran C.J. Uzomah participated in seven games, starting three of them, primarily serving as a blocking tight end. E.J. Jenkins had limited action but managed to score on his sole reception of the season. The roster also includes Nick Muse and Cameron Latu, who joined as a free agent in 2025.
C.J. Uzomah will become an unrestricted free agent this March after ten years in the NFL.
Head coach Nick Sirianni praised Dallas Goedert: "I can't say enough about what he brings to this football team He has an ability to make plays in big moments... When you're confident in yourself in those moments, you shine."
Since becoming the Eagles' primary tight end in 2021, Goedert ranks sixth among NFL tight ends with 2,620 receiving yards and third with an average of 12.4 yards per reception.
The Eagles face decisions regarding their tight end lineup due to Goedert's injury history, having missed multiple games over recent seasons.
