The Philadelphia Union secured a victory in their season opener against Orlando City SC, with a final score of 4-2. In the closing stages of the match, Head Coach Bradley Carnell made a strategic decision to bolster the team's defense by introducing Ian Glavinovich onto the field. This substitution marked Glavinovich's debut for the Union.

The 23-year-old Argentinian player replaced Daniel Gazdag in the 84th minute, contributing to the team's successful start to the season on the road. Glavinovich joined Philadelphia Union on December 20, 2024, arriving on a one-year loan from Newell’s Old Boys.
