Pennsylvania House Republicans have urged the state's Democrats to approve a Senate-passed tax cut plan without changes. The proposal aims to reduce the Personal Income Tax and eliminate the Gross Receipts Tax on electricity, with Republican Leader Bryan Cutler stating it would "put more money in the pockets of every Pennsylvanian." He criticized Democratic leaders for considering using reserves and surpluses for expanding government programs.

Cutler emphasized, “We must reject the notion it is fiscally sound to add unsustainable recurring costs onto the taxpayers.” He insisted that surplus funds should be returned to taxpayers rather than increasing government spending.

Representatives Tim O’Neal and Josh Kail will introduce a House version of this plan, supported by Republican leadership. O’Neal highlighted its broad impact: “This plan would mean more money in every single paycheck in Pennsylvania and would immediately reduce electricity bills for every single consumer.”

Kail added that removing the Gross Receipts Tax on energy bills would lower costs for residents, stating, “We’re proposing lower energy bills for you and your family.” Rep. Martina White described these cuts as crucial relief for working-class citizens, noting their bipartisan support in the Senate.
