Subsequent sessions included self-care and symptom management presented by Linda Ruppert, DNP, CRNP; Adelie Hagy, BSN; Jamie Hamilton, BSN; Sarah Williams, BSN; and Christine Malloy, RN. Laura Brobst discussed coping strategies for illness and caretaker burnout while Val Rakita provided insights into advanced therapy options for heart failure.
Participants engaged in various activities such as Laughter Yoga conducted by Alexa to promote stress reduction alongside heart wellness. Chef Jeffrey Klova and Clinical Dietitian William Stallings Jr. held a live cooking demonstration featuring nutritious meals like pesto pizza.
Additional features of the event included a CPR station, a wheel of fun offering raffle prizes, and a photo booth where attendees could pose for pictures while learning about maintaining heart health.
