Philadelphia Union has confirmed the signing of forward Bruno Damiani from Uruguayan club Nacional. The announcement was made at a press conference attended by Sporting Director Ernst Tanner and Head Coach Bradley Carnell.

The acquisition marks a record-breaking transfer fee for the club, with Damiani's contract secured through 2028 and an option for 2029. He will join the Union's active roster upon receiving his International Transfer Certificate (ITC) and P1 Visa, occupying an international roster slot.

"Bruno is the exact type of player that we have been looking to add to our striker unit," said Ernst Tanner. "He is a tall, physical striker with a proven ability to dominate and be a danger in the final third. Along with his size and strength, he is a clinical finisher and is relentless on the attack. We look forward to getting him integrated quickly and seeing his impact on the pitch."

Damiani, aged 22, comes from Uruguay’s Primera División where he played for Nacional. In 2023, he appeared in 22 matches for Nacional, scoring two goals and providing three assists. His debut came on June 17, 2023, in a victory over Club Deportivo Maldonado. During his loan spell at Boston River in 2024, Damiani scored 12 goals and assisted five times across 38 games.

His performance peaked during the Clausura when he netted nine goals in 14 matches, becoming the league’s second-highest scorer. This achievement earned him consecutive Player of the Month awards in August/September and October of that year.

In January 2025, Damiani contributed significantly as Nacional clinched their first Supercopa title since 2021 by defeating Peñarol. His international career began with a call-up to Uruguay’s National Team in May 2024 where he debuted against Costa Rica.
