Philadelphia Union's final training session took place on Saturday ahead of their friendly match against Slavia Praha. The team has not played a match in three months, during which there have been numerous changes to the roster and staff. This game will be head coach Carnell's first full match in charge of Philadelphia, providing him with an opportunity to test various lineups and observe both returning and new players at game speed.
Carnell, a former professional defender, participated in drills early in the session. He shared his thoughts earlier this week during a press conference about facing European teams like Slavia Praha while staying in Marbella. "I think playing European opponents who are a week away from getting going, like Slavia Praha who are playing in their Europa League game on Thursday, there's a lot of benefits to it," he said.
After training, the team had the afternoon off. Some veterans spent time together at the hotel's cafe, while younger players relaxed in the spa and sauna. Others, including Tai Baribo and Danley Jean Jacques, opted for haircuts with the belief that looking good can enhance performance.
