The Flyers faced the Flames on Tuesday, experiencing a challenging game. Despite this, there were notable performances worth highlighting.
Rasmus Ristolainen stood out during the Flyers' first power play. He made several difficult keep-ins on the left side of the zone, near the blue line. Although he rotated to different points, his ability to block clearing attempts was key in maintaining the power play. This skill is often practiced by NHL defensemen to appear effortless.
Andrei Kuzmenko also had noteworthy moments in his first game against his former team. His unassisted goal began with him taking possession near his own blue line. Despite being challenged by a Calgary forward in the neutral zone, Kuzmenko managed to advance the puck toward Calgary's end. After regaining possession from Mackenzie Weegar, who had just entered from the bench, Kuzmenko executed a shot that used a defenseman as a screen to score against Dustin Wolf.
Kuzmenko contributed again before Sean Couturier's credited goal. Along the near boards, he intercepted and passed the puck to Matvei Michkov in stride, preventing what could have been an inconclusive board battle.
