The Philadelphia Flyers concluded their five-game road trip with a 3-2 overtime loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Sunday evening. The Flyers ended the trip with a record of 2-2-1.

During overtime, Matvei Michkov's attempt was countered when John Tavares passed the puck to Auston Matthews, who then set up Morgan Rielly for his fifth goal of the season at 2:25, sealing the win for Toronto.

The Flyers started strong in the first period, leading in shots on goal 14-13 but trailing 2-1 by intermission. Tyson Foerster scored early, marking his twelfth goal of the season. He was assisted by Noah Cates and Rasmus Ristolainen. However, Matthew Knies quickly equalized for Toronto following a turnover by Ryan Poehling.

Ivan Fedotov made crucial saves to prevent further damage from turnovers. Despite efforts from Foerster and Nick Seeler, Toronto took a lead before the first period ended with Oliver Ekman-Larsson scoring off a rebound from Steven Lorentz's shot.

In the second period, Owen Tippett's penalty put pressure on Philadelphia's defense, though they managed to kill it off successfully. Scott Laughton later tied the game with help from Sean Couturier and Ristolainen.

Both teams had limited chances in a tightly contested third period. A power play opportunity arose after Max Domi elbowed Garnet Hathaway, but the Flyers failed to capitalize. Regulation time ended with Philadelphia leading in shots 30-24.

Fedotov returned to action after nearly a month and stopped 22 of 25 shots. Dennis Hildeby guarded Toronto’s net with 31 saves out of 33 attempts.
