The Philadelphia Eagles are set to face the New York Giants in their regular-season finale during Week 18. With the Eagles secured in the No. 2 seed position in the NFC, Head Coach Nick Sirianni has announced plans to rest several starters for this game.
"We're going to rest some guys. There are going to be some guys that are resting. There are going to be some guys that are in reserve roles. You can't obviously rest everybody with the roster. That's our plan moving forward," Sirianni explained earlier this week.
Tight end Dallas Goedert, recently activated from Injured Reserve, is listed as active, though his playing time remains uncertain. Additionally, linebacker Dallas Gant and defensive end Charles Harris have been elevated from the practice squad for today's match-up against the Giants.
Kenny Pickett, who was questionable due to a rib injury on Friday's report, will also be active today.
For the Eagles, notable inactive players include Saquon Barkley (RB), A.J. Brown (WR), Jalen Hurts (QB), and DeVonta Smith (WR) among others.
On the Giants' side, outside linebacker Boogie Basham and tackle Tyre Phillips have been brought up from the practice squad. Running back Dante Miller has been signed to the active roster from the practice squad as well. Offensive tackle Evan Neal has been ruled out due to rib and hip injuries.
Inactive players for the Giants include Dante Miller (RB), Greg Stroman (CB), Micah McFadden (ILB), and Evan Neal (OT).
The decisions regarding player activity reflect both teams' strategies as they approach this concluding game of their regular season.
