John Tortorella's Philadelphia Flyers will face Derek Lalonde's Detroit Red Wings in a matchup at Little Caesars Arena on Wednesday. The game, starting at 7:00 p.m. EST, will be broadcast nationally on TNT/MAX and available via radio on 97.5 The Fanatic.

The Flyers recently defeated the Red Wings 4-1 last Thursday in Philadelphia. This will be the second meeting of the season between the two teams, with one more scheduled for January 21 at Wells Fargo Center.

Scott Laughton has historically performed well against Detroit, scoring four goals in their last encounter and tallying a total of 19 career points against them. "Even before his career-best four-goal game against the Red Wings last Thursday, Flyers alternate captain Scott Laughton has had more scoring success against Detroit than any other opponent in the NHL," noted an observation from the team.

Flyers rookie right wing Michkov came close to scoring multiple times during their previous match but was repeatedly stopped by Detroit goaltender Cam Talbot. A lacrosse-style "Michigan" goal attempt by Michkov was also denied.

With back-to-back games ahead, goaltending duties for Philadelphia are expected to be shared between Samuel Ersson and Aleksei Kolosov. For Detroit, Alex Lyon is set to play as Talbot deals with a lower-body injury.

Philadelphia's power play performance has improved recently after a difficult stretch earlier this season. Currently ranked 26th in power play efficiency, they aim to capitalize against a struggling Red Wings penalty kill that ranks 31st leaguewide.

Lucas Raymond leads Detroit in scoring this season and will be a key player alongside Dylan Larkin who is looking to end a nine-game goal drought. The Flyers plan to limit penalties and keep Detroit's top line focused on defense rather than offense.
