Nakobe Dean, a linebacker in his third year in the league, has become a key player and leader on defense. This season, he ranks second on his team with 58 tackles, alongside three sacks and a crucial interception.

Dean's journey extends beyond football. He pursued mechanical engineering at Georgia, maintaining a 3.55 GPA. In an interview with PhiladelphiaEagles.com, Dean shared insights into balancing his demanding major with football. "My mother, Neketta Dean, is a veteran; she used to go to the VA (The United States Department of Veterans Affairs) all the time," Dean said. Initially aspiring to be a doctor designing prosthetics, he shifted to engineering after disliking chemistry. "I'd be lying if I said it was any type of easy in college," he admitted.

Outside football, Dean engages in business ventures and enjoys traveling and playing chess with teammate Moro Ojomo. "I don't have a game system... I like I play chess with Moro Ojomo all the time," he noted.

Transitioning from Mississippi to Philadelphia presented challenges for Dean, who had never lived in a northern city before. "It was way different... It was colder; it was different," he remarked about adapting to urban life.

Dean appreciates Philadelphia's accessibility and proximity to various activities. "Being able to live near a city... you have a lot of things to do which for me is big," he explained.

If not for football, Dean sees himself pursuing business interests while valuing his mechanical engineering degree. "When I kind of tailed out of college... I'd probably be doing that right now," he concluded.
