The NHL has announced that three players from the Philadelphia Flyers have been selected to represent their respective countries in the 2025 Four Nations Faceoff. Travis Konecny and Travis Sanheim will play for Team Canada, while Rasmus Ristolainen will join Team Finland.

Travis Konecny, a forward from London, Ontario, is making his fifth appearance on a Team Canada roster. He debuted with the senior national team at the 2017 IIHF World Championships and has since played 32 international games, scoring 11 goals and accumulating 25 points. "I was very caught off guard," said Konecny about his selection. "But for me and Sanny to both make it, it’s such an awesome experience that we get to do together."

Konecny ranks seventh among Canadians in the NHL for points (30), fifth for goals (13), and is tied for third in power play goals (5). His teammate, defenseman Travis Sanheim from Elkhorn, Manitoba, also made Team Canada's roster. Sanheim expressed excitement about playing alongside Konecny: “It was very cool to hear the news and obviously a huge honor.”

Rasmus Ristolainen of Turku, Finland, will represent Team Finland as one of seven defensemen selected. He has previously represented Finland internationally on 17 occasions. "It’s going to be huge," said Ristolainen regarding his participation in the tournament.

Additionally, Flyers' Head Coach John Tortorella will serve as an assistant coach for Team USA. Tortorella has a notable history with international hockey coaching roles.

The Four Nations Faceoff is organized by the NHL and NHLPA as a round-robin tournament featuring teams from Canada, United States, Sweden, and Finland. It is scheduled to take place from February 12-20 instead of the annual NHL All-Star Game.
