The Philadelphia Eagles are set to welcome back wide receiver DeVonta Smith for their upcoming game against the Carolina Panthers at Lincoln Financial Field. The Eagles' injury report, based on a Wednesday walkthrough, suggests that Smith would have fully participated if a full practice had been held. Smith has missed the last two games due to a hamstring injury but remains second in team receptions and receiving yards.
Wide receiver Johnny Wilson, also recovering from a hamstring issue, was estimated to be limited in practice. Cornerback Darius Slay, who is in concussion protocol after an incident against Los Angeles, would have participated on a limited basis as well. Tight end Dallas Goedert is expected to miss practice due to a knee injury sustained during Sunday's game in Baltimore. In response, the Eagles elevated tight end C.J. Uzomah from the practice squad.
Head Coach Nick Sirianni praised Uzomah: "As far as C.J. goes, veteran. What a great teammate he is... He just brings veteran reliability."
Safeties Reed Blankenship and Sydney Brown and wide receiver Britain Covey were also noted as non-participants due to injuries.
In contrast, the Carolina Panthers' roster appears mostly healthy heading into the matchup with Philadelphia. Outside linebacker Jadeveon Clowney did not participate in Wednesday's activities but was absent for rest reasons rather than injury concerns.
