Punter Braden Mann has been named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week following his performance in the Eagles' victory over the Ravens. Mann's punting averaged 51.2 yards on six attempts, with a net average of 48.5 yards. He placed five of his punts inside the Ravens' 20-yard line, including two inside their 5-yard line.
Special Teams Coordinator Michael Clay praised Mann's contribution: "It was outstanding," he said. "Braden did an unbelievable job. I know everyone has kind of seen, five of six punts inside the 20."
This recognition marks Mann's second career Player of the Week award; he previously won AFC honors in Week 2 of the 2022 season with the New York Jets.
Clay highlighted Mann's impact during critical moments: "In one of those games that turned into a field position game, it kind of sparked a little bit with that defense... It was fantastic out of Braden to kind of give a little spark off the special teams."
The Eagles have now earned six individual Player of the Week honors in 2024. Running back Saquon Barkley holds a franchise record with four selections this season, while linebacker Zack Baun and kicker Jake Elliott have also received accolades.
Mann set franchise records for punting averages in his first season with Philadelphia in 2023 and currently ranks second in the NFC and fourth in the NFL for gross punting average this year.
"Braden's been doing a really good job," Clay commented on Mann's consistent performance. "He's been doing an amazing job for us when it comes to putting the ball in a place where we can cover."
