Cooper DeJean and Quinyon Mitchell, two rookies in the NFL, have been making a significant impact this season. Both players have taken on major roles for their respective teams since being drafted in 2024. Mitchell, chosen by the Eagles as the 22nd overall pick, has been a starter from the beginning of the season. Meanwhile, DeJean, selected 40th overall, has started five of the last six games as a nickel cornerback and has been handling punt returns.

Mitchell is notable for being the only NFL cornerback with over 375 coverage snaps without allowing a passing touchdown this season. According to Pro Football Focus, he has restricted opponents to a 51.1 percent completion rate and a passer rating of 71.4. He also ranks second among NFL cornerbacks with a forced incompletion percentage of 23.4.

The two rookies discussed their experiences adjusting to life in Philadelphia and their roles in their rookie year during an interview with PhiladelphiaEagles.com.

DeJean shared his thoughts on moving from Odebolt, Iowa to Philadelphia: "Growing up in Iowa was fun... It's been a little bit of an adjustment coming to a big city."

When asked about hobbies outside football, Mitchell said: "Probably sleep... I play video games." DeJean mentioned his interest in golf and basketball: "Just hanging out with my family though too."

Regarding favorite foods, Mitchell enjoys gator tail and other Southern dishes while DeJean appreciates steak and potatoes along with local pizza and cheesesteaks.

DeJean recalled his early basketball days: "It was summer going into my freshman year of high school... I never dunked in the game until my sophomore year."

Mitchell talked about his unique dance celebrations: "I've just been practicing my own dance at home."

Both players have leaned on each other during their rookie season. Mitchell stated: "We're just piggybacking off each other." DeJean added: "We've built a good relationship... It's good to have another dude in the room to be able to learn with."

Their goals for this season include winning games and contributing to team success. Mitchell aims for a Super Bowl win while DeJean wants to make an impact wherever possible.

When asked about their favorite stadiums besides Lincoln Financial Field, both players expressed preferences for indoor venues like New Orleans Caesars Superdome and AT&T Stadium.
