Through the first 20 games of the 2024-25 season, Philadelphia Flyers players Travis Konecny and Travis Sanheim have emerged as standout performers. The two athletes, who share a strong friendship off the ice, are delivering impressive performances on it.

Travis Sanheim, aged 28, has significantly improved his game this season both offensively and defensively. Known for his ranginess and quick feet, Sanheim is now using these attributes with greater consistency. He ranks among the top four in the league for average ice time per game at 25:33 minutes. Notably, he skated 4.69 miles during a recent game against Colorado.

Flyers head coach John Tortorella once doubted Sanheim's abilities but has since become an advocate for him. "The way I looked at 'Sanny' when I first saw him, he was a good skating boy," Tortorella said. "Today...he's just been so impressive."

Sanheim credits his success to rigorous offseason conditioning and guidance from assistant coach Brad Shaw. Shaw praises Sanheim for using past critiques as motivation to improve his performance.

Offensively, Sanheim is on track for his best season yet with five goals and seven assists through 20 games. His offensive prowess dates back to his junior hockey days with the Calgary Hitmen.

Meanwhile, Travis Konecny continues to lead the Flyers offensively with a career-best pace of 11 goals and 12 assists in 20 games. Known for playing on an emotional edge, Konecny's ability to make his linemates better has been noted by Coach Tortorella: "He wants to make a difference."

On November 18th, Helge Grans made his NHL debut with the Flyers against Colorado while his parents were visiting from Sweden. Grans played well in his debut and recorded an assist.

The Flyers face a busy schedule ahead with four games in six nights around Thanksgiving week after their current homestand where they hold a record of 1-2-0.
