Arizona Fall League concludes; All-AFL team announced based on standout performances

Season 32 of the Arizona Fall League concluded with the Salt River Rafters defeating the Surprise Saguaros, 3-2, in the Championship Game. The league showcased top prospects and performances over six weeks.

The 2024 MLB Pipeline All-AFL Team was announced based on player performance during this period. Moises Ballesteros from Mesa, ranked No. 4 for CHC and No. 44 in MLB, posted a .316/.376/.557 line over 19 games. "He’s hit pretty much everywhere he’s been," noted an observer.

Josue Briceño from Scottdale, ranked No. 9 for DET, achieved a historic Triple Crown and was named AFL MVP with a .433/.509/.867 line, including ten homers and 27 RBIs.

Thomas Saggese from Glendale, STL's No. 4 prospect, ended with a .391/.524/.594 line and more walks than strikeouts across 18 games.

Caleb Durbin from Salt River set a record for stolen bases while hitting .312/.427/.548. Yankees GM Brian Cashman mentioned him as a potential candidate for their Opening Day lineup.

Colt Emerson from Peoria, SEA's top prospect and ranked No. 27 in MLB, showed his potential despite playing only 13 games due to a minor injury.

Denzel Clarke returned to the Fall League after playing in it previously in 2022 and impressed with a .382/.495/.566 line over 19 games for Mesa.

Sammy Siani of Scottsdale displayed his improved swing with a .375/.457/.550 line while Tre’ Morgan from Mesa excelled defensively and offensively with a .338/.391/.500 performance.

Kemp Alderman of Peoria made headlines by hitting six homers in just nine games before leaving mid-season for personal reasons.

Josh Stephan led all pitchers with impressive stats including a league second-best ERA of 2.25 over his innings pitched for Surprise.

Andrew Painter from Glendale earned AFL Pitcher of the Year honors after recovering from Tommy John surgery to post strong numbers including an ERA of 2.30 over his innings pitched.

Evan Justice stood out among relievers by not allowing any hits across nine outings totaling eight-plus innings.

This season highlighted emerging talent poised to impact Major League Baseball soon.
