The Arizona Fall League's fourth week has highlighted several standout performances from promising baseball talents. Among them, Andrew Painter, a top prospect, was recognized for his impressive pitching feat.
Alejandro Osuna of the Surprise Saguaros led AFL hitters with a .455 average, contributing significantly to his team's success with 24 hits and 19 walks over 18 games. Nick Kurtz from Mesa displayed remarkable prowess, boasting a .533 average and achieving an outstanding on-base percentage of .650 for the week.
Jac Caglianone also had a notable week with two home runs in a game against Peoria, placing him among the week's leaders in hits and RBIs. Meanwhile, Niko Kavadas of Mesa stood out as the only player to hit three home runs during the week.
Josue Briceño showed consistency at the plate with a .429 average and remained a difficult out throughout his games. Thomas Saggese excelled with limited opportunities, maintaining a league-best on-base percentage of .554.
Carter Jensen demonstrated his potential by hitting two home runs without striking out. Peyton Williams achieved one of the longest home runs of the fall season at 453 feet.
On the pitching front, Luinder Avila impressed with two solid appearances for Surprise, leading AFL pitchers in strikeouts for the week. Josh Stephan continued his dominance on the mound with an ERA of 0.54 over five appearances. Leandro Lopez delivered three innings without allowing a hit or run.
Andrew Painter nearly joined Glendale teammate Luis Mey in reaching triple-digit speeds with his fastball, clocking in at 99.1 mph during an Oct. 30 start against Surprise.
