Following their Week 3 victory over the Saints, the Philadelphia Eagles have announced roster changes. The team has signed tight end Jack Stoll to the active roster and wide receiver John Ross to the practice squad. This move necessitated placing wide receiver Britain Covey on Injured Reserve due to a shoulder injury he sustained early in the game against the Saints after catching one pass for 11 yards.
Stoll made his 2024 debut with the Eagles in their recent match against the Saints, having been elevated from the practice squad for that game. Previously, he was released by the Giants during roster cutdowns before joining the Eagles' practice squad. Stoll originally joined the Eagles as an undrafted free agent in 2021 and was part of their Week 1 roster as a rookie. Over his career of 51 games, he has recorded 20 catches for 183 yards. His addition will provide depth alongside Dallas Goedert and Grant Calcaterra in the tight end position.
John Ross returns to the Eagles after spending much of the summer with them following his Rookie Camp invitation post-2024 NFL Draft. Although released during initial roster cutdowns, Ross is now back in the wide receiver group, bringing notable speed and experience. Known for running a 4.22-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine, Ross has accumulated 62 receptions for 957 yards and scored 11 touchdowns since being drafted ninth overall by the Bengals in 2017.
With A.J. Brown unavailable for two games, Covey had increased playing time at wide receiver, recording seven catches for 34 yards. Following Covey's injury on Sunday, Cooper DeJean assumed punt return duties.
