The NFL presents a competitive landscape where players must consistently prove their worth. Kelee Ringo, a cornerback for the Philadelphia Eagles, understands this reality well. After an impressive finish to his rookie season with 198 defensive snaps and four starts in the final five regular-season games, Ringo faces new challenges following the Eagles' selection of two cornerbacks—Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean—in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Ringo acknowledges the competitive environment: "It's a great opportunity to compete and work," he stated. He recognizes that competition will enhance the team's overall performance, noting, "Everything is up for grabs."
As a fourth-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft from Georgia, Ringo remains unfazed by the increased competition. He expressed confidence gained from his rookie year experience: "Having a year under my belt has definitely helped me be more calm with my play." His focus is on improving aspects such as reacting to offensive strategies and understanding game concepts.
Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 207 pounds, Ringo is set to turn 22 later this month. He has been active throughout spring training and looks forward to an intense Training Camp. Practicing against receivers like DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown provides valuable preparation.
A.J. Brown commented on Ringo's progress: "Kelee is difficult at times going against him... He's hungry and he's competing at a high level." The cornerback room includes both young talents and seasoned veterans like Darius Slay and Avonte Maddox, making roster spots highly competitive.
Ringo remains optimistic about his development: "That's what it's all about. You have to bring your best," he said, expressing confidence in his current abilities compared to last year.
