Cam Jurgens, a player for the Philadelphia Eagles, will switch roles from athlete to bartender on Tuesday evening. From 5-7 PM, Jurgens and his teammates will serve drinks at Chickie's and Pete's in South Philadelphia to support the Eagles Autism Foundation.

"We want to get involved with the community and raise money for Eagles Autism," said Jurgens, who is nicknamed Beef Jurgy. "You see so many guys on the team get involved with that and they have great events. It's so awesome."

Jurgens joined the Eagles as a second-round pick in 2022. He initially learned behind the scenes but took over as starting right guard in 2023. Now preparing to play center, he has also found time for community efforts like those of the Eagles Autism Foundation.

"It takes a little bit of time," Jurgens noted about adapting to life in Philadelphia and choosing impactful causes. "Being a part of this, we get to do so many different events with the Eagles Autism Foundation."

The annual Eagles Autism Challenge is scheduled for May 18th at Lincoln Financial Field. The event raises funds for autism research and care through cycling and a 5K run/walk. Jurgens helped plan tonight's celebrity bartending event as part of efforts leading up to the challenge.

"You're going to see pretty much the whole team bike riding or doing the walk," Jurgens said about team participation in the challenge. Fans can use code May24 to waive registration fees.

Previously, Jurgens participated in another fundraiser with teammate Landon Dickerson. He describes tonight’s gathering as "a lot less formal."

"Let's do something where we get involved in the community and we get to raise money," Jurgens explained about his motivations for organizing such events.
