As the Philadelphia Eagles' rookies gathered for the start of their Rookie Minicamp, wide receiver Johnny Wilson signed his four-year rookie contract. Wilson was selected as the team's sixth-round pick, 185th overall.

Wilson began his college football journey at Arizona State under former Eagle Herm Edwards. After two seasons and eight games, he transferred to Florida State in 2022. There, he earned All-ACC recognition in each of his final two seasons, concluding his college career with 102 receptions for 1,757 receiving yards and eight touchdowns.

Wilson stands out as the largest receiver drafted in the past decade. His height is 6 feet 6 and three-eighths inches, with an arm length of 35 and three-eighths inches and a wingspan of 84 and a half inches. These measurements are unmatched by any wideout drafted during this period.

Additionally, Wilson is one of only four receivers drafted in the last ten years who weighed at least 230 pounds at the Combine while running a minimum of 4.55 seconds in the 40-yard dash. In the 2022 season, The Athletic's Bruce Feldman reported that Wilson reached a speed of 21.2 MPH. Last fall, DeVonta Smith achieved this speed once on offense—the fastest time recorded by any Eagles receiver.

Director of Player Personnel Alan Wolking commented on Wilson's unique attributes: "The physical stature is really just an anomaly. He can make some of the most spectacular catches … and what you see is that he has the ability to get balls that almost no one can get to."
