The Philadelphia Eagles have secured tight end C.J. Uzomah with a one-year contract, marking his return to the field after a knee injury last season. Uzomah expressed optimism about joining the Eagles, stating, "I really wanted to come to a place, where in my heart, I have a feeling that we have a great chance to win a Super Bowl this year." He cited the team's culture and fan base as key factors in his decision.

Uzomah stands at 6-foot-5 and weighs 271 pounds. He is entering his tenth NFL season after being drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in 2015. Over his career, he has played 106 games with 82 starts, catching 192 passes for 1,881 yards and scoring 16 touchdowns. His most notable performance was during the Bengals' Super Bowl LVI appearance in 2021 when he achieved career highs with 49 receptions for 493 yards and five touchdowns.

The tight end spent the last two seasons with the New York Jets but missed the final five games of his tenure due to a knee injury sustained on December 3, 2023. Despite this setback, Uzomah is confident about his recovery progress: "I'm on track, a little bit ahead of schedule," he said. "I can't wait to get back on the field and get after it with the guys."

Uzomah's addition will bring seasoned experience to an Eagles' tight end lineup that currently features Dallas Goedert as its most experienced player with only ten career starts.
