Major League Soccer (MLS) has unveiled its offseason calendar, which includes significant events such as the 2025 Expansion Draft for San Diego FC and the MLS SuperDraft. The offseason kicks off on December 9 with a half-day trade window. Key dates include November 27 for clubs to exercise player options, December 11 for the MLS Expansion Draft, December 12 for the opening of free agency, and December 20 for the MLS SuperDraft.

Clubs are required to submit their roster decisions to the MLS League Office promptly after their final postseason matches. This includes exercising player options and submitting Bona Fide offers. Clubs reaching the Conference Finals must make these submissions immediately after their last match.

The roster freeze ends with a trade window allowing teams to adjust rosters through trades with other MLS teams. Each club will announce its roster decisions publicly.

The fifth edition of the MLS College Showcase will occur in San Diego from December 11-14. This event provides technical staff from every MLS club an opportunity to scout top collegiate prospects.

San Diego FC can select up to five players during the Expansion Draft, with eligible players being announced by MLS Communications on December 10. The draft rules allow clubs to engage with free agents—players out-of-contract or whose options have been declined—and who meet specific age and service year requirements.

The End-of-Year Waivers process follows a reverse order based on team performance during the season, giving San Diego FC the final pick in each round. Players not meeting criteria for Re-Entry Process or Free Agency are eligible here.

Similarly, the Re-Entry Process stages one and two follow this order. Eligible players are those at least 22 years old with a minimum service year who aren't free agents unless they receive a Bona Fide offer from their current club. The first stage list will be released on December 13, followed by stage two on December 19.

Finally, the three-round SuperDraft will take place considering club standings and postseason outcomes, awarding San Diego FC top selection in each round due to their expansion status.
