The Philadelphia Flyers concluded their 2024 preseason with a 5-4 victory over the New Jersey Devils at Wells Fargo Center. This win brought their exhibition record to 4-3-0.

Olle Lycksell scored first for the Flyers, assisted by Oliver Bonk and Anthony Richard, giving them an early lead. The Devils responded with Ryan Schmelzter scoring from a pass by Mikael Diotte, leveling the score in the first period.

J.R. Avon put the Flyers ahead again in the second period with a power play goal, assisted by Rodrigo Abols and Bonk. Shortly after a goalie change for Philadelphia, Mike Hardman's goal was nullified due to an offside review.

Kevin Labanc of the Devils scored later in the second period, assisted by Daniil Misyul and Justin Dowling. Emil Andrae quickly answered for Philadelphia with an unassisted goal following a turnover.

In the third period, Anthony Richard extended Philadelphia's lead with another power play goal, set up by Andrae and Erik Johnson. Labanc added another power play goal for New Jersey on a 5-on-3 advantage.

Noah Cates secured another power play goal for Philadelphia before Labanc completed his hat trick with just seconds remaining in the game.
