The Philadelphia Flyers are set to play their fifth preseason game against the New York Islanders on Monday evening in Elmont, New York. The match at UBS Arena is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. EDT.

Fans can stream the game live within the service area on PhiladelphiaFlyers.com. The radio broadcast will be available on 97.5 The Fanatic with an online simulcast on Flyers Radio 24/7.

Last Thursday, the Flyers secured a 2-0 victory over the Islanders at Wells Fargo Center. This time, more of the Islanders' NHL regulars are expected to participate. Assistant coach Darryl Williams will oversee the bench for Philadelphia.

Here are five key points to watch during Monday's game:

1. Kolosov's NHL preseason debut

Belarusian goaltending prospect Alexei Kolosov will make his NHL preseason debut for the Flyers. He previously played a few AHL games for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms late in the 2023-24 season and served as a backup goalie during the Calder Cup playoffs. Kolosov will share goaltending duties with Fedotov, who played in the first two periods of the preseason opener and completed a full game against Boston two nights ago.

2. Limited number of Flyers regulars

With upcoming preseason games on Tuesday (in Boston) and Thursday (at home vs. New Jersey), the Flyers will dress a limited number of NHL roster locks for this game. Most of the potential opening night group is expected to play in Thursday's finale. Regulars and semi-regulars participating in Elmont include Joel Farabee, Scott Laughton, Noah Cates, Garnet Hathaway, Ryan Poehling, Rasmus Ristolainen, Egor Zamula, and veteran blueliner Erik Johnson.

3. Extended look at Lycksell

Roster bubble forward Olle Lycksell will be dressed for his fourth appearance in five preseason games as part of an extended evaluation by the Flyers. Lycksell had a strong performance in Saturday's game with primary assists on goals by Ristolainen (5-on-5) and Matvei Michkov (power play).

4. Swedish defense prospects

Half of Monday’s starting blueline consists of Swedish-born defense prospects: offensive-minded Emil Andrae, defensive defenseman Adam Ginning, and big-framed Helge Grans. These players spent most or all (Grans) of last season with the Phantoms.

5. Competing for recall opportunities

Oscar Eklind and center Rodrigo Abols, signed as free agents this summer, face challenges in securing opening night NHL roster spots but remain contenders for in-season call-ups based on performance and opportunity availability. Veteran AHL offensive standout Anthony Richard is also under consideration and will have another chance to impress during Monday’s game.
