Philadelphia Union's scoring trio led the team to a 4-0 victory over D.C. United on Sunday night at Subaru Park. Mikael Uhre and Daniel Gazdag started the scoring early, with the duo combining for two goals in the first 16 minutes. Tai Baribo added another goal in the second half, making it back-to-back matches where all three front players scored together. Hungarian midfielder Gazdag added a brace 17 minutes after Baribo's goal, extending Union's strong form against their I-95 rival to 13 wins in the last 17 contests since May 2017.

The Union aims to continue their push for the MLS Cup Playoffs with another match on Saturday night against Atlanta United FC during Hispanic Heritage Night presented by Bimbo Bakeries USA. Tickets for this event at Subaru Park on September 29th are available for purchase.

Philadelphia Union had a complete roster available for Sunday’s matchup, and head coach Jim Curtin fielded his strongest lineup of the month. Andre Blake returned as goalkeeper after recovering from an injury sustained during international play with Jamaica. Jack Elliott also returned to the backline after missing Wednesday's match due to yellow card accumulation.

In midfield, Homegrown players Jack McGlynn and Quinn Sullivan started alongside Leon Flach. The front three featured Daniel Gazdag at No. 10, along with Tai Baribo and Mikael Uhre, all of whom had scored in their previous game at Yankee Stadium.

Andre Blake made a significant save in the 11th minute, stopping Mateusz Klich's shot. Two minutes later, Mikael Uhre scored his fourth consecutive first-half goal for Philadelphia Union, assisted by Quinn Sullivan.

Daniel Gazdag doubled the lead three minutes later with a powerful shot past Alex Bono after intercepting a mistimed pass from Swedish defender Christopher McVey.

In the second half, Tai Baribo extended Union’s lead to three goals in the 51st minute with a header from Quinn Sullivan’s cross. D.C. United came close to scoring in the 64th minute when Boris Enow’s shot hit both Nathan Harriel and the post.

Jim Curtin made substitutions throughout the second half, including bringing on Danley Jean Jacque and Alejandro Bedoya in place of Jack McGlynn and Uhre.

Gazdag secured his brace in the 69th minute with a counter-attacking finish set up by Baribo. Curtin continued rotating players, substituting Olivier Mbaizo for Kai Wagner and giving Cavan Sullivan another appearance late in the game.

Cavan nearly scored his first MLS goal during stoppage time but saw his shot deflected over the crossbar by a D.C. defender.
