Eagles football returned to Lincoln Financial Field for a Monday Night Football matchup against the Falcons. The Eagles, coming off a 34-29 victory over the Packers in Brazil during Week 1, faced a tough contest that ended with the Falcons narrowly winning 22-21.

The game began with Braden Mann pinning the Falcons at their own 8-yard line after the Eagles' opening drive stalled. Following several exchanges, Saquon Barkley showcased his agility on his home debut as an Eagle, accumulating 39 yards on four carries. However, both teams struggled to find offensive rhythm, leading to a scoreless first quarter.

In the second quarter, Tyler Allgeier's 15-yard run brought the Falcons into Eagles territory. Younghoe Koo's 39-yard field goal gave Atlanta an early lead (Falcons 3 – Eagles 0). Jalen Hurts responded by connecting with DeVonta Smith for an 18-yard gain and later finding him again for a seven-yard touchdown (Eagles 7 – Falcons 3).

A penalty on Ray-Ray McCloud hindered the Falcons' progress despite Bijan Robinson's efforts bringing them close to scoring. Koo added another field goal just before halftime (Eagles 7 – Falcons 6).

After halftime, Robinson continued to be central to Atlanta’s offense. Koo kicked another field goal from 34 yards out (Falcons 9 – Eagles 7). Hurts and Smith combined again in response, setting up Jake Elliott’s first field goal of the night (Eagles 10 – Falcons 9). A crucial fourth-down conversion led to Darnell Mooney's touchdown reception for Atlanta; however, they failed on a two-point attempt (Falcons 15 – Eagles 10).

In the final quarter, Hurts executed a successful "tush-push" play twice: once converting on fourth-and-one and then scoring from one yard out. Barkley completed a two-point conversion leap (Eagles 18 – Falcons 15). C.J. Gardner-Johnson made a significant stop on Robinson’s fourth-and-one attempt.

With time winding down, Elliott extended Philadelphia’s lead with another field goal (Eagles 21 – Falcons 15). However, Cousins quickly drove Atlanta downfield and connected with Drake London for a seven-yard touchdown pass. A subsequent unsportsmanlike conduct penalty did not prevent Koo from making the decisive extra point (Falcons 22 – Eagles 21).

Hurts tried to mount one last drive but was intercepted by Jesse Bates while targeting Smith deep downfield.
