Zack Baun concluded his best NFL performance with a game-ending sack of Packers quarterback Malik Willis, securing the Eagles' 34-29 victory over Green Bay in Brazil. In his first start as an Eagle, Baun recorded fifteen tackles and two sacks, both career highs.

Upon returning home from São Paulo, Baun adhered to a family ritual established by his wife, Ali. The "24-hour rule" allows him only one day to react to any game result before moving on. "I try to stay not too high and not too low," Baun stated at the NovaCare Complex on Wednesday. "There's so much more we can build off of."

Baun, 27, joined the Eagles after four years with the New Orleans Saints. The Eagles valued his edge-rushing ability and coverage skills, believing he would fit well in Defensive Coordinator Vic Fangio's scheme. Fangio praised Baun's versatility: "He's got the versatility from his experience of being an on-the-line guy... I think he'll just keep getting better and better."

Baun expressed appreciation for the confidence shown in him by the Eagles' organization: "Everyone wants that sense of belonging... Since I've been here, it's been this overwhelming sense of confidence in me." This support has allowed him to play freely and confidently.

On signing with the Eagles, Baun quickly connected with fellow linebacker Nakobe Dean. The two have developed a close relationship and now start together as off-ball linebackers. Their synergy is seen as crucial for the team's defensive growth.

In New Orleans, Baun learned leadership skills from veterans like Malcolm Jenkins and Demario Davis. Now with Philadelphia, he aims to expand both as a player and mentor within one of the league's youngest teams.

Head Coach Nick Sirianni noted Baun's relentless effort: "A great indicator of how you're going to play in games is how you practice." This intensity was evident during Friday night's game against Green Bay.

Baun contributed significantly across various roles—whether rushing (two sacks) or in coverage (three catches allowed for 11 yards). He credited his success to team efforts: "A lot of that was attributed to scheme... Secondary had great coverage."

Free agency gave Baun an opportunity to find a team valuing his defensive contributions. The Eagles discovered a versatile player who fits well into their new defensive scheme. "Letting me be myself has been crucial," said Baun.
