Tonight, the Philadelphia Phillies reached 3 million in total attendance at Citizens Bank Park for the second consecutive season. The milestone was achieved as gates opened for the matchup against the Tampa Bay Rays.

“Phillies fans are hands down the best in baseball,” said Senior Vice President of Ticket Operations & Projects John Weber. “Each and every home game they bring excitement and energy to the ballpark, making Citizens Bank Park the place to be. We are extremely honored to have hosted more than three million fans for the second year in a row.”

Before the game, the Phillies surprised Tom Spitko, along with his wife Laura and children Savannah, age 10, and Trey, age 8 – from Chadds Ford, PA – as the team’s honorary 3 millionth fans, upgrading their seats to the CP Rankin Club. Participating in this event were Phillies Ambassadors Milt Thompson, Mickey Morandini, and Dickie Noles, as well as the Phillies Ballgirls.

The family also received an in-game visit from the Phillie Phanatic and Phillies Managing Partner and CEO John Middleton. Middleton added to their surprise with tickets to the team’s upcoming Fan Appreciation Night on September 25 and the 2025 Phillies Home Opener on March 31.

The Phillies rank third among all clubs in baseball this year in attendance per game at home with an average of 41,399 per game. Of the 72 games at Citizens Bank Park this year, 42 have been sellouts and 52 have had crowds of at least 40,000.
