The Eagles announced the elevation of veteran offensive lineman Nick Gates and tight end E.J. Jenkins from the practice squad for Friday night's game against the Packers.
Gates is in his seventh NFL season and first with the Eagles. He was signed by Philadelphia after training camp started but was released during the roster cutdown. Gates brings extensive starting experience, having played in 57 career regular-season games with 39 starts. He has started games at every offensive line position except left tackle, with most of his starts at center. Gates previously played for the Giants and Commanders.
Jenkins showcased his receiving ability in the preseason and made a push for a spot on the 53-man roster but landed on the practice squad. Jenkins spent time last season on the Eagles' practice squad and is set to make his NFL debut this week. At 6-6, 245 pounds, Jenkins would be the third tight end behind Dallas Goedert and Grant Calcaterra.
The Eagles are without cornerback Isaiah Rodgers (hand) and linebacker Devin White (ankle) due to injury. The rest of the inactives will be announced at 6:45 PM.
