Philadelphia Union II announced today that defender Neil Pierre has been selected to join the U.S. Under-18 Men's Youth National Team for the upcoming 26th International Youth Football Tournament in Niigata, Japan.

U.S. U-19 MYNT head coach Michael Nsien will lead the training camp as the USA is set to face a local Niigata Select team on Sept. 12, Japan on Sept. 14, and Peru on Sept. 16.

This marks Pierre's first call-up to the U-18 squad, having previously represented the U.S. at the U-15, U-16, and most recently, U-19 levels in March.

The accomplishment is the latest of a memorable 2024 season where he won his second Generation adidas Cup with the Union Academy's U-17 squad and was named to the tournament's Best XI. With Union II this season, Pierre has appeared in 19 matches with 17 starts and has guided the youngest squad in MLS NEXT Pro to the top of the Eastern Conference with 43 points.
