The Philadelphia Eagles claimed tight end Armani Rogers off waivers from the Washington Commanders and waived wide receiver Shaq Davis, the team announced on Wednesday.
A rookie free agent out of Ohio where he was a quarterback, Rogers recorded five catches for 64 yards during his rookie campaign in 2022 with the Commanders. He was sidelined by an injury in 2023. The 6-foot-5, 225-pound Rogers started his college career at UNLV before transferring to Ohio. At Ohio, Rogers set the NCAA FBS record for longest run by a quarterback with a 99-yard touchdown.
Davis was signed by the Eagles in January after spending time on the Saints' practice squad in 2023. Davis was recently activated from the Active/Non-Football Injury list on July 26.
